The Inua is a 2005 Hewescraft Alaskan 260. We purchased her in March of 2024 and Andrew spent the next couple of months giving her a massive facelift. She received a completely new paint job, new Yamaha 150hp outboard motors, new radar and chart plotter, and numerous other improvements. The Inua has seating inside the enclosed cabin for 6 guests plus the captain, a spacious back deck for viewing wildlife and scenery, and an onboard head or restroom.
The Inua carries all the safety equipment required by the US Coast Guard: a life raft, personal floatation devices for both adults and children, fire extinguishers, marine radios, a 406 EPIRB, and first aid kits.
The name Inua is in honor of the Inuit belief that everything in nature is animated by an inua. The word inua means “its owner” - in other words, that things, people, and animals have an inherent owner. Or to put it another way, a soul. The inua is thus the light, the power, the aura, and the soul of nature.
